Chesapeake Powerboat Magazine was born from one simple truth: the Mid-Atlantic performance boating scene is thriving, but no one was really telling its story. The Chesapeake Bay, with its rugged beauty and high-performance culture, has been underrepresented in mainstream marine media for too long. So I decided to do something about it. With over six years of experience behind the camera at poker runs, shootouts, and dock parties, and seven years in the digital marketing world, I’ve been fortunate enough to document more than 35 boating events up and down the East Coast. And no matter where I go, I always come back to this: there’s something special about the Chesapeake. The community, the boats, the backdrop—it deserves a platform that reflects its energy, speed, and soul. This magazine is for the people who wake up early to chase glassy water. It’s for the weekend warriors who put in the hours all week just to light up the Bay on Saturday. It’s for the captains, the crews, the photographers, the dock bar regulars, and everyone else who feels at home with outboards humming beneath their feet. In every issue, you’ll find stories that highlight the boats, the builders, the events, and—most importantly—the people that make this scene so electric.
